Drifter rod

A drifter rod, alternatively referred to as a threaded drill rod, hydraulic drill rod, is a precision-engineered hollow hexagonal steel component featuring standardized connecting threads at both ends. The rod assembly interfaces with the drilling system through two critical connections: One end couples with the shank adapter through a coupling sleeve, and the other end is used to connect directly with a drill bit.

This configuration serves as the primary conduit for transmitting both impact energy and rotational torque from the hydraulic rock drill to the bit assembly, enabling efficient rock fragmentation.

Main thread sizes for drifter rods: R25, R28, R32, T38 (male-male)

Main steel shape and size for drifter rods: Hex28, Hex32, Hex35(sometimes are round rod)

Material: 23CrNi3Mo

Processing technology: Carburized

Main applications:

Underground mining systems,Tunneling projects
